Why does God revealed Himself to us?

God revealed Himself to those who are asking, seeking, knocking, that is, He sends the Holy Spirit (Luke 11: 9-13) to teach us, guide us, and make us like Christ (John 16:13). Only the Holy Spirit can reveal God to us.

The purpose why God reveals Himself to us is to make us aware of sin, righteousness and coming judgment. He did this through Jesus Christ who brought about the forgiveness of sin when we believe, repent, bury our flesh through baptism, and received the Holy Spirit as a guarantee that we are owned by God (John 3: 3-8).

We cannot enter God’s Kingdom without the Holy Spirit, remember that.

Another purpose why God revealed Himself to us is to make us grow in Christlikeness. And it is the Holy Spirit that teaches us how to be like Christ. That is why we need the Holy Spirit. How do we know if we have the Holy Spirit in us? In Romans 8:5-16, Paul explained that those who live by the Holy Spirit no longer allows himself to be controlled by worldly and bodily passions and sin. So if the Holy Spirit is in us, it convicts us to stop sinning and dig deeper unto the Word of God that brings life.

How does Christian Growth and Maturity comes in your life as a disciple of Christ? Present two Biblical ways to grow and mature.

To grow, first and foremost, we must read the Bible, pray and spend time meditation on the Word of God. There is no other way greater than this. True growth happens when we dwell in the secret place of the Most High (Matthew 4:4; Psalm 91:1)

Second, it is good to have a church or a house church where you can learn together and strengthen each other. (Hebrews 10:25-26)

How do you measure your Christian Life? Explain a "spiritual ruler" that could assess your life.

We can fake our holiness in church, in cell groups, around friends, because nobody sees what we do in secret, when we are alone. And that is what God is actually judging in us, our secret life. We cannot fool God. God knows our thoughts and imaginations. (Ecclesiastes 12: 14; Romans 2:16; Ezekiel 8:12)

So who is the spiritual ruler that can assess our lives? The WORD of GOD! Read the Word of God and assess yourself whether you are doing what pleases God or not. The reason why we remain sinful because we are not serious in reading and studying the Word of God. If we do not listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit that tells us to “stop sinning”, there will come a time when the Holy Spirit will leave us and will no longer speak to us, just like what happened to King Saul. (1 Samuel 18:12). Remember, JESUS is the WORD of GOD.
